Stable Taxes

Stable taxes continue to our goal for the residents of Weehawken. During our years in government we have held the line on taxes while maintaining the services that are important to our residents.  

During these tough economic times we understand it is important to watch each and every expenditure. We have held the line on salaries and equipment purchases. We have also actively pursued Federal, State, and County Grants to prevent tax increases. This aid is used for everything from public safety to education and township improvements to open space and recreation. 

Also, over the last 3 years we have assisted over 200 Senior Citizens in enrolling in the New Jersey Senior Citizen Property Tax Freeze Reimbursement Program. This program freezing the taxes of qualifying senior citizens at the current rate and the State of New Jersey provides a refund check to the senior for any future property tax increases.
